Summary: My room was clean but had a disgusting smell to it, I had to purchase a candle to light. Bathroom walls need to be repainted, they were noticibly dirty. The wood work is beautiful and shouldn't be overlooked nor overpowered by dirty walls or a smelly room. I'm not a fan of a black swimming pool. My 8 yr old was afraid to get in because she said it didn't look clean. In all fairness you could see the calcium build up in certain areas of the pool and hot tub. The owners should really consider changing the tiles. The pool and bar area itself, is lovely and that would make it more inviting. Breakfast was continental, so I expected that but it was still good. Check in and out was fast and all of the hotel staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The manager was very customer friendly and quickly resolved a small issue I had. That within itself made the stay more pleasant. And I appreciates that the most.
