Welcome to The Nautical Nook! Located just steps away from the heart of Matlacha, this cozy waterfront home is within walking distance of cute little shops, amazing restaurants, and popular fishing spots. Start your mornings with coffee and breakfast from the Perfect Cup, rent a kayak, go fishing off the Matlacha Bridge, enjoy a delicious seafood dinner at the Blue Dog, and then unwind out by the water in the evening – this is the place to be!
The Nautical Nook has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps six guests. Each of the bedrooms comes equipped with a spacious closet, dresser, and device-charging areas. One bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed, and the second bedroom features two twin-sized beds with a mix of firm and soft pillows. The living room features a sofa bed with queen-sized mattress and a VIZIO smart TV where you can sign into your favorite streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max, YouTube, and many more. We have bedding for the sofa bed clearly labeled and stored in the master bedroom closet. Under the coffee table and in the bottom of the pantry there are some fun, family-friendly classic board and card games. When it's time for dinner, the eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals for the family.
To help you reduce the number of things you need to pack, a hairdryer is provided and beach bags with beach towels are available for you to use.
For your convenience, we provide on-site laundry with a newer full-size washer and dryer and complementary detergent and dryer sheets. Two lap desks are provided for remote workers who want to work comfortably from anywhere on the property. Secure WiFi is always provided free to guests.
We also provide Zebco fishing rods and tackle box for guests who want to try fishing off “The World’s Fishingest Bridge.”
Please note: Out-of-state fishing and hunting licenses are not valid in Florida. A fishing license is required to attempt to take fish. If you cast a line or catch and release, you need a license. Children under 16 years of age do not need a fishing or hunting license. Guests fishing from a charter, guide or party boat that has a valid vessel license do not need to obtain a fishing license for that trip. Please visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website for more information and to obtain your fishing and/or hunting license.
Two parking spots are provided on the property. Guests can park in the car port (8' wide x 24' long x 6.5' high) or on the shell-gravel space created in front of the home (8' wide x 17' long). We do not recommend bringing oversized vehicles (ones larger than the dimensions provided) or boat trailers because there is not enough room to park them.
Please be aware that the street where the property is located is very narrow (one car width). Please drive slowly and watch for cars, neighbors, and their pets when arriving and departing the property.
Pets: Although we are pet friendly, due to a change in our insurance policy, we cannot permit the following dog breeds at the Nautical Nook: Doberman Pinschers, Pit Bulls/Pit Bull mixes, Rottweilers, or Wolf Dogs/Wolf Hybrids.
Guests are permitted to bring up to two (2) dogs, as long as they are not the aforementioned breeds. Dog must be house-trained (no puppies, please.) The dog may use the side yard, but please dispose of any pet waste using the provided dog waste bags and discard them in the outside trash can only. Any repairs needed due to damages caused by a guest’s pet will be charged to the guest or against the guest's travel insurance policy. Please do not allow pets on the furniture and keep them properly leashed and monitored when outside for their safety.
Please note that, although the Nautical Nook is located on a canal, the canal is narrow and can become very shallow during low tide. We currently do not offer the option to dock a boat or any type of watercraft at the property. However, there are several nearby marinas such as the Olde Fish House Marina, Four Winds Marina, and the Sunset Dreams Marine Center, that provide wet slips for daily and monthly fees.
