Summary: The Ft. Myers Beach area was devastated by hurricane Milton and is still in recovery mode. It shows. Some of the property is under construction/repair, and many of the businesses along Estero Blvd. are gone. Check-in was sketchy because we arrived there after 5:00pm and we did not receive an email with instructions. Fortunately after a wait a manager wandered by and made some phone calls to get us checked in. The beach is okay, although be aware of sand fleas on the attack. We were covered in bites after the first full day. Most of the good restaurants are in either Fort Myers proper or Bonita Springs, so there is a bit of driving to negotiate. Otherwise, there are still local restaurants open but lots of construction around which you need to navigate. In another 6 months they should be mostly back to normal. The 2-bedroom condo in which we stayed was very nice. If your focus is the room itself, it was fine. Views from the balconies were great.
