Positive: The quiet, secluded location about an 8 minute drive from the Bacalar center is absolutely worth the trip and the last few metres on the bumpy dirt road. The sunrises were just amazing and the direct entry to the lagoon fantastic for swimming and relaxing. We also loved the spacious outdoor area with the hammocks and sitting options. Furthermore, the owner as well as the family next to us were extremely welcoming and kind. And we slept like babies - the quality of the mattress is very good! There was a free parking spot for our rental car.

Negative: The place hasn't been much cared for in the past years so it looks quite different than on the pictures. The equipment of the kitchen is not the best, but you have all the basics. The stairs down to the water are slippery after the rain, but the owner left a warning about that, so if you go down carefully, you will be fine. The furniture is still functional, but partly damaged, which shouldn't stop you from booking it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. These are just things you should be aware of so you won't be disappointed.
